Mama's Birthday.

So, it's my birthday today.

Gma Lala and Booboo surprised me this morning w/ a new book, Mr. Tea made waffles, and we spent part of the afternoon dancing in the living room to The Jackson 5.  (What more can a birthday girl want??)

Rockin' out to the Jackson 5.

We were going to go to the aquarium, but a certain someone was determined NOT to nap this morning, and with a tired Booboo and a bit of a trip, it seemed like not the best idea.  So instead we went to a cemetery.  Laurel Hill Cemetery.  This is one cool cemetery, and I've been wanting to go there for awhile, to walk around and take pictures.  It was definitely chilly, but with blue sky, and bare trees it created quite a backdrop for the amazing tombstones and mausoleums.  You'll have to imagine the blue sky.  Mr. Tea and I have been on a black and white kick, so the pictures look particularly stark.  I think we got some cool ones, tho.  Enjoy.

When we came back we had birthday cake.  Booboo loved the candles, of course.  And cake.  It was a chocolate hazelnut confection that was quite tasty.  Something I had intended to make for Christmas and never got around for it, so I was happy Gma Lala was able to make it for me for my b-day.

Sick Day.

Madeline as Shelter.

Booboo caught her first cold.  We thought it was pretty impressive to hold off until 15 months--She seems lucky that way.  So we've been lying low, letting her stay in her jammies all day.  She is seeming a whole lot better already.

She is developing a love of music.  (Surprise, surprise.)  All of a sudden, "mu, mu" is her favorite request.  She loves dancing to it (either sitting dancing or swaying while holding onto something) and shaking the maracas, as shown below.  She doesn't seem to have any personal preferences, but I am trying to help her develop a varied musical palate.  Raffi, as fabulous as he is, only goes so far.

Futon Monster.

While I'm checkin' out the transaxle, would'ya like me to change the oil, ma'am?

Happy New YeaR!

Without further ado, Here is "5 Little Monkeys," for your enjoyment:

Christmas Morning.

Mr. Tea has been bugging me to put up an update.  There are so many other things screaming for my attention this morning (Booboo not one of them--she is napping,) but I thought I'd at least get some pictures up from Christmas.  The highlights of Christmas were plastic clips (a stocking stuffer that Grandma Lala thought would be used to keep bags of chips closed, but have seemed to be usurped by Booboo), legos, a new slew of books are definitely popular, and, of course, eggs.
