Singin' in the Rain.

Well. No one ever said East coast weather was boring!! Now that the snow is finally gone, we seem to be in the middle of a giant nor'easter. This is day 2 now. Yaya's friend B is visiting from Seattle, and is amazed at just how dramatic it is. The wind is whipping through the trees, and even a minute outside means a complete drenching. Yaya said when they went past Wissahickon creek, she's never seen it so high, and it looked like it could even flood. (Yipes!) Plus, dear old house that we are in, has been showing it's age with little drips (and bigger drips) into the kitchen. (Yipes, again.) Hopefully, the rain won't last much longer, and Mr. Tea will be able to get on the roof and make some repairs. (Thank god for Mr. Tea!)

So, as a result, we've mostly been playing inside, doing this sort of thing:

But Booboo and I had a bit of cabin fever this afternoon, and she was really hoping to collect some water in her buckets, so we took a few minutes on the porch today. Luckily our porch is halfway covered, so you can remain mostly dry, while still getting to enjoy some splashes.

Booboo and the Snowman.

How do you do?

Cool dinosaur gloves, eh?

Booboo was worried the Snowman was getting lonely. Not anymore.

Proper watering important for maintaining Snowmouse Growth.

Giving the Snowman some love.

When life gives you snowballs...

Make like you're at the beach, dahling!

(and no, I wasn't freezing my child--the afternoon was quite warm on the porch, despite the snow.)

S-N-O-W is a four-letter word.

Dear Snow,

You can go away now. You may be pretty, but we've had enough snowmen to last us for awhile. (not to mention the car dig-outs.)
Thanks.

The Tea Household.

For those of you on another coast, who are perhaps already planting gardens and enjoying daffodils, I say, wusses! I give you late february in Philadelphia! For the few, the hardy, the foolhardy...

Counting the days...

The Concert Ballroom.

Let's see...when last we left our intrepid heroine, she was trying to get through this long winter, endure the snow, and was counting the days till spring! Well, that pretty much sums up our last few weeks/months, actually!
We did have one big celebration--Yaya's birthday was just last weekend. She had bought tickets for a kiddie/orchestra concert in center city, so it gave us an excuse to have a girls' day in town. We started with the concert, had a delicious lunch at a fun new asian restaurant called Chew Man Chu (haha.) (Funny enough, it was the same restaurant we had gone to earlier, and were looking everywhere for it! there it was, transformed, in front of our noses.) And then we went to the wonderful little fabric store in town called spool, in order to feed Yaya's growing fabric addiction. For those of you not following her blog, Yaya (formerly Grandma Lala) has starting making quilts! it is becoming quite a passion for her, and it is so fun to see her in the sewing room, playing with different fabrics and shapes and making it come together. Very cool.

Booboo and Yaya.

All smiles at Chew Man Chu.
